The Woman's Salon presents: Two Novels of Woman and Community

CAROLE SPEARIN MCCAULEY will read from HAPPENTHING IN TRAVEL ON (Daughters, Inc.), a frontier adventure of a women's commune set in New England. The book has computer-assisted portions--a new way of doing fictional portraits. She will also read from a just completed novel, her fifth book, THE HONESTY TREE, which attempts an honest, compassionate portrait of a lesbian couple and a teenage girl confronting bigotry in a New England town. Carole's other books since 1973 are SIX PORTRAITS, computer-assisted fiction pub. in Germany; COMPUTERS AND CREATIVITY, non-fiction, Praeger; PREGNANCY AFTER 35, medical nonfiction, Dutton. Her short work has appeared in over 50 magazines, newspapers, anthologies. Her computer texts have appeared in art shows in U.S., Canada, Germany. She has also lectured on experimental fiction and new women's literature.
