John Hospers

Ralph Tyler Flewelling Reading Room.

According to Dr. Ross Scimeca, Librarian at the Hoose Library of Philosophy: "John Hospers (still living as of 2004) was head of the School of Philsophy when I entered as a graduate student here in 1969. He was in ordinary language analysis, authored a number of books in philosophical analysis, ethics, political theory, and aesthetics. He was a close friend of Ayn Rand. He also ran for president of the United States on the libertarian ticket and got one electoral vote. He was a great teacher."
