Robin Brailsford, installed August, 2006. Located at the corner of 12th and Crocker streets. Inspired by the ultimate fashion icon and by Man Ray's work on the same subject. A pair of 16 foot-long ruby red lips set at an angle on a black tripod base. Like a telescope, the lips point to the stars of Los Angeles. Commissioned by Maxxam Enterprises as part of the Private Percent for the Arts program of the Los Angeles Cultural Affairs Department.
