Joseph Louis Young (1919 - ) was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He received his B.A. degree from Westminster College in Pennsylvania. After serving in World War II, Young studied at the School for Art Studies, the Art Students League, the Cranbrook Academy, the school of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts and the American Academy in Rome. Young has executed numerous works in the Los Angeles area, including the Triforium, and the mosaic murals at the Los Angeles County Hall of Records, the Mathematical Sciences building at UCLA and in the lobby of the Parker Center. Young also completed the Holocaust Memorial at Pan Pacific Park in Los Angeles.
